This group covers the rifle grenades whose payload screens, lights or trains rather than fragments. The 40 mm smoke grenades M04 and M62 each quote a delay of 7.5 s and 80 s of smoke; the 40 mm parachute illuminating grenades M08 and M62 each quote a star burning 25 s at 80000 cd with the parachute opening at 250 m when fired at 45 degrees; and the 30 mm target practice M99 matches the mass and dimensions of the high explosive M99. Every record gives length, operating temperature and a packing quantity.

30 mm bullet-trap target practice rifle grenade matching the mass and dimensions of the HE M99 grenade.

40 mm bullet-trap parachute illuminating rifle grenade burning 25 s at 80000 cd, parachute opening at 250 m when fired at 45 degrees.

40 mm parachute illuminating rifle grenade of 400 g burning 25 s at 80000 cd, parachute opening at 250 m when fired at 45 degrees.

40 mm bullet-trap smoke rifle grenade emitting for 80 s after a delay of 7.5 s.

40 mm smoke rifle grenade of 475 g launched by a 7.62 mm grenade cartridge to 350 m, with 7.5 s delay.
After calibre and mass, the entry states the sequence in figures: a delay time, then a burning or smoke duration, then the light intensity where the payload is illuminating. Delay runs at 7.5 s on both smoke grenades and 4.3 to 5.1 s on both illuminating grenades. Length separates the models, 330 mm for the two M62 items against 370 mm for the M04 smoke and M08 illuminating grenades.
Four families are present: M04 and M08 at 40 mm, M62 in both a smoke and an illuminating version at 40 mm, and M99 as the 30 mm practice grenade. Mass runs from 400 g on the illuminating M62 to 580 g on the smoke M04. Packing is quoted as 39 or 40 grenades in a tin box for the four 40 mm items, with 12 cases on a pallet.
The M08 is listed at 500 g and 370 mm, the M62 at 400 g and 330 mm. Both quote the same delay of 4.3 to 5.1 s, the same star burning 25 s at 80000 cd, and parachute opening at 250 m when fired under 45 degrees; packing differs at 39 against 40 grenades per tin box.
The 30 mm target practice M99 is recorded as matching the mass and dimensions of the 30 mm high explosive M99. Its data sheet repeats the same launching figures, 58 m/s and 300 m with 5.56x45 mm SS 109 and 72 m/s and 400 m with 7.62x51 mm.
