30 mm rounds for automatic grenade launchers

All four line items belong to the M93 family of 30 mm rounds for automatic grenade launchers, in the P1 and P2 versions. Two are high explosive, the M93 P1 and the M93 P2; the other two are the practice-marker and the target practice M93 P1. Every record quotes a round mass, a grenade mass, a muzzle velocity of 185 m/s and the same precision on a vertical target at 100 m, Vp and Vv at 0.08 m or less, over an operating range of -30 to +50 degrees C.

Pairing a belt-fed round with pressure and rate of fire

The entry pairs the round with the belt-fed weapon and with the pressure it develops: the three P1 records quote a mean maximum pressure of powder gases of 1350 bar for a group of rounds, and the high explosive records quote a rate of fire of at least 350 rounds per minute. Maximum range is 1700 m on the three records that state one.

One family, M93, in its P1 and P2 versions

One family, M93, runs through the group in two versions. The P1 rounds are listed at 360 g with a 273 g grenade and a length of 132 mm; the high explosive P2 is listed at 350 g with a 263 g grenade. A lethal radius of 6 m is quoted for the two high explosive rounds only, and a self-destruct time of 27 s for the high explosive and practice-marker P1.

Questions about these line items

Which weapons do these records name?

The high explosive M93 P2 record names AGL-30 mm, BGA-30 mm, AGS-17, KBA-117 and similar weapons. The target practice M93 P1 record names 30 mm automatic grenade launchers of AGS-17 pattern. The other two records state no weapon.

How are the two training rounds packed?

Both the practice-marker and the target practice M93 P1 quote the same packing: 48 rounds in an Al-bag, 2 Al-bags in a wooden case and 20 cases on a pallet. The two high explosive records in this group state no packing quantity.
