Multiple launch rocket systems and artillery rockets
Twelve records pair unguided artillery rockets with the launchers that fire them. At 107 mm sit the M15 and the extended-range M06. The 122 mm GRAD, GRAD M and GRAD 2000 share a 19.1 kg warhead with fuze and differ in motor and range; they are listed with a self-propelled multi-tube launcher on a 6x6 chassis and with the container-type MLRS 122 on a 4x4 vehicle. At 128 mm are PLAMEN-A M63, PLAMEN-D M87 and OGANJ M77, alongside the PLAMEN C and OGANJ C self-propelled launchers.

How artillery rockets are specified in tender documents
Every rocket record gives the calibre or rocket diameter, the length, the rocket mass and a maximum range; the three 128 mm entries add the warhead calibre. Warhead mass with fuze is published on the three GRAD rockets and a warhead mass on OGANJ M77, while the mass of the explosive charge appears on the two 107 mm rockets and the two PLAMEN rockets. Motor total impulse is given on the 107 mm and 122 mm rockets and specific impulse on the GRAD line alone, where the range is also tied to an elevation of 48.48 degrees, or 50 and 55 degrees on GRAD 2000. Temperature range of use is quoted on every rocket record except OGANJ M77. Fuze designations such as UTI M84 and UTU M77 are named where published, together with launching-tube data and, on two records, packaging in wooden cases or a launching pod.
The GRAD, PLAMEN and OGANJ families
Three families run through the group. The 122 mm GRAD line separates a twin combustion chamber motor from a single star-shaped grain on GRAD M and a single cylindrical grain on GRAD 2000, with total mass from 66 to 69.3 kg. PLAMEN-A M63 and PLAMEN-D M87 differ in length, mass and range, and OGANJ M77 at 67 kg is the heaviest of the three 128 mm rockets, though lighter than GRAD M and GRAD 2000. Each launcher record carries the name of the rockets it fires.
Questions about this equipment
What maximum ranges do the rockets state?
The 107 mm M15 gives 8.3 km and the M06 11.5 km. GRAD is quoted at 20.1 km, GRAD M at 27.8 km and GRAD 2000 at 38.4 km at 50 degrees, or 40 km at the optimal elevation. At 128 mm, PLAMEN-A M63 gives 8600 m, PLAMEN-D M87 12625 m and OGANJ M77 21500 m.
What do the launcher records themselves state?
All four name the carrier. Field of action in azimuth and elevation appears on the container-type MLRS 122 and on OGANJ C; firing rate and a deployment or emplacement time on MLRS 122, PLAMEN C and OGANJ C; while the self-propelled GRAD record states only calibre, the rockets it fires, maximum range and carrier. OGANJ C lists 24 or 32 tubes, a system mass of 22000 kg and a crew of 2 plus 4; PLAMEN C lists 9600 kg; MLRS 122 lists 2 x 20 reusable tubes with GPS, INS and optical orientation from a 4x4 vehicle.
