The thermobaric group covers eight 120 mm line items under the designations HAL-20, TB, Mk12-TB, Mk12L-TB, Mk12PX-TB and Mk12LPX-TB. Six are mortar-launched bombs and two are air-drop shells released from a stated minimum height of 50 m. Every entry names a thermobaric explosive charge with its mass, a length and mass with fuze, a fuze designation, an overpressure figure at a stated distance and an operating temperature range. Fills are HAL-20, PBX or a charge given simply as thermobaric.

120 mm mortar-launched thermobaric bomb with 4000 g HAL-20 fill, reaching 6400 m at 320 m/s with six increment charges.

120 mm thermobaric mortar bomb with 3100 g charge and superquick impact fuze, reaching 8000 m from a 1500 mm barrel.

120 mm thermobaric mortar bomb with 3100 g charge for long-barrel mortars, reaching 9400 m from a 1900 mm barrel.

120 mm thermobaric mortar bomb with proximity fuze for long-barrel mortars, reaching 9400 m from a 1900 mm barrel.

120 mm thermobaric mortar bomb with proximity fuze and superquick back-up, reaching 8000 m from a 1500 mm barrel.

120 mm air-dropped shell for UAV release, filled with 2525 g insensitive PBX thermobaric explosive and plastic fins.

120 mm mortar bomb filled with 2525 g insensitive PBX thermobaric explosive, ranging 255 m to 6500 m.
These lines are written like other 120 mm entries — calibre, length and mass with fuze, charge and charge mass, fuze designation and, on the mortar-launched entries, a maximum range against a named barrel length — and then add the figures particular to the nature: an overpressure reading at a stated distance and, on several entries, a lethal fragment radius. The HAL-20 and PBX lines also record insensitivity results to MIL-STD-2105B for open flame and for 12.7 mm AP impact, plus a fifteen-year service life.
Two fills separate the families. The HAL-20 pair carries 4000 g on a 13000 g body with 0.67 bar at 5 m and a 30 m lethal fragment radius; the PBX pair carries 2525 g on a 12650 g body with 0.5 bar at 5 m and a 20 m radius. The Mk12-TB family holds 3100 g on a 14800 g body at 0.5 bar measured at 7 m, and the PX suffix marks the MBU M18 proximity fuze in place of UT M88 P2.
Two: the 120 mm HAL-20 air-drop shell and the 120 mm TB air-drop shell. Both state the UT M18 special impact fuze, a minimum release height of 50 m and packaging of two shells in cardboard tubes per wooden box. The other six are mortar bombs with a maximum range quoted against a barrel length.
On the Mk12PX-TB and Mk12LPX-TB the fuze is the MBU M18 proximity fuze with superquick, and the muzzle safety figure rises to 100 m against 70 m on the Mk12-TB and Mk12L-TB. Length with fuze also grows from 807 mm to 835 mm, while charge mass stays at 3100 g.
