Howitzers and artillery guns, 105 mm to 155 mm calibre / caliber
This group holds the tube artillery in the catalogue: eight line items in 105 mm, 122 mm and 155 mm. The 105 mm entries are the M09 truck-mounted howitzer, the towed M56/33 and an upgrade kit for the M101/M2A1. The 122 mm entry is the truck-mounted SOKO. In 155 mm the group lists the NORA-B52 and NORA-B52 M21 gun-howitzers, the ALEKSANDAR self-propelled howitzer and the 155 mm/45 conversion of the 130 mm M46 gun. Each sheet gives a rate of fire and, except for the M09, a maximum range tied to a named projectile type; crew size, mass and chassis appear where the source documents them.
A 105 mm self-propelled truck-mounted fire support howitzer with an armoured cabin, a 2+2 smoke box launcher, manual loading, a crew of five, a 44-round combat set, a maximum rate of fire of 6-8 rounds per minute and 450 km of vehicle autonomy.
Upgrade of the 105 mm M101/M2A1 howitzer that replaces the 23-calibre barrel with a 33-calibre barrel fitted with a double baffle muzzle brake, together with a higher-pressure breech and breech block, a new equilibrator spring and added trail weight, raising range to 18.1 km with the HE-ER base bleed projectile and 15 km with the HE-ER boat-tail projectile.
A towed 105 mm fire support howitzer with a 3500 mm barrel, two-baffle muzzle brake, horizontal sliding wedge breech, hydro-pneumatic recoil and equilibrator, a crew of six, a maximum rate of fire of 8 rounds per minute and a maximum range of 18.1 km with an extended-range base-bleed projectile, firing all NATO standard 105 mm ammunition.
A 122 mm gun-howitzer integrated on a 6x6 truck chassis with armour protection against small arms fire and fragmentation, direct and indirect fire capability, a 7.62 mm auxiliary machine gun, smoke pot dischargers and a resting system of four foldable hydraulically operated spades, able to fire all standard 122 mm ammunition including laser-guided projectiles.
A modular 8x8 truck-mounted 155 mm self-propelled gun-howitzer for fire support at greater distances, firing 12 rounds in less than 4 minutes at a rate of 4 rounds per minute, powered by a turbocharged V-8 diesel at a gross vehicle weight under 40 tonnes and optionally fitted with the latest generation navigation and orientation equipment.
A modular 155 mm self-propelled gun-howitzer for fire support against tactically, operationally and strategically significant targets, reaching 18.4 km with HE M107, 32.4 km with HE ERFB-BT and 41.1 km with HE ERFB-BB, firing up to 4 rounds per minute with 12 rounds in the autoloader plus 24 in stowage and a crew of five.
Conversion of the 130 mm M-46 gun into a 155 mm/45 calibre fire support weapon by replacing the barrel, breech block and muzzle brake, redesigning the counter-recoil sealing system and fitting a new sighting system, giving a 34% increase in range while retaining crew training, operation and maintenance similar to the original gun.
A fully automated 155 mm self-propelled fire support artillery weapon formed by integrating a 52-calibre JBMOU-compliant weapon module with a 23-litre chamber onto an 8x8 chassis, controlled from the vehicle cabin, with a 12-round automatic loader plus 12 rounds on the vehicle, MRSI of 4 rounds at 25 km, 6 rounds per minute and up to 52 km range with VLAP projectiles.

How howitzers and guns are specified in tender documents
Tender annexes for tube artillery normally state the calibre, the barrel length in calibres, the maximum range per projectile family and the maximum and sustained rate of fire. For self-propelled items the annex adds the wheel formula, combat mass, road autonomy, crew and the protection level of the cab. For towed pieces and upgrade kits it records the weight of the piece or of the kit and the breech, muzzle brake and recoil arrangement. The catalogue entries in this group carry these figures as documented for each model.
Designation families and what varies by model
Three families appear here. The 105 mm items (M09, M56/33, M101/M2A1) share a 3500 mm barrel figure; the M56/33 and the M101/M2A1 kit are quoted at 18.1 km with an HE-ER BB projectile. The 122 mm SOKO is documented at 21 km with an HE/BB projectile. In 155 mm the NORA-B52 family and ALEKSANDAR are 8×8 self-propelled weapons quoted from 18.4 km to 62 km depending on projectile and barrel, while the M46 conversion is a 155 mm/45 gun of 7800 kg rated at 39 km with HE ERFB-BB M03.
Questions about this equipment
Which calibres are covered in this group?
Three: 105 mm (M09, M56/33 and the M101/M2A1 upgrade kit), 122 mm (SOKO) and 155 mm (NORA-B52, NORA-B52 M21, ALEKSANDAR and the 155 mm/45 conversion of the 130 mm M46). Each entry states the calibre and, where documented, the barrel length in millimetres or calibres.
Are the range figures comparable between entries?
Each range is documented against a named projectile type, such as HE M107, HE-ER BB, ERFB-BB or VLAP, and figures for the same projectile family can be read side by side. Where a sheet gives no range, as with the M09, the entry records the other figures only.
